On a cold London evening a few winters ago I attended a lovely workshop at ‘The Make Lounge’, Islington. It’s one of the friendliest and high standard creative classes I’ve been to. Once inside you feel like you’re in someone’s home and they even have wine if you feel like a tipple whilst you sew, draw, cut etc
I was keen to try out linocutting.. always wanted to try it at school. I dragged Kaziu along (I wonder is he the only male to ever attend a class at ‘The Make Loung’?! Must find out. Whatever, the ladies in the class didn’t seem to mind!
My sketches and ideas for Silvermoths logo were in my bag so whilst everyone else set off cutting away making their cute christmas stamps… I cut out my very basic moth shape I’d come up with. The stamp ended up looking like something a 5 year old had made. But I like that!
If you fancy learning a new creative skill.. or making some presents for Christmas, take a look at their workshops. Some are more pricey than others but it’s well worth it!
Next I’m going to make some moth themed items for people to buy at gigs.

Standon Calling have invited us back again – and this time we’re playing on the main stage!
Catch us this Sunday at 12.50 at the lovely boutique festival under an hour away from London. You’ll also have plenty of time to get back to London to see if Usain Bolt remains the fastest man in the world (if that’s your sot of thing).

We’re playing at The lovely Old Queens Head in Islington, London this Sunday.
Free entry, yummy food, games & great music!
Us Silvermoths are on at 7pm. We’re playing a more acoustic set because we’re missing our bassist/keyboardist Steve.
We’re especially looking forward to hearing the Robbie-Boyd band who play after us! Should be a fun evening. Music is going on all afternoon & evening as part of earMusic’s all day Marathon Sunday!
